“My first love was a gentle Chestnut pony named Dapples”
I was five years old when I first met Dapples. On a nippy, sunny day in September, I followed my riding instructor to the stall where a small Chestnut pony with soft brown eyes stood patiently waiting. Helmet under my arm, wearing my brand-new jodhpurs, I quivered with anticipation. I took the reins and led Dapples to the training ring for my first lesson.
“My first camera was a Polaroid 600”
The dapples— moments of light, wonder, and presence— are a reminder that life is a vast collection of little joys.
The world through the lens was my passport to new experiences and human connections.
Photography is a way for me to refocus and to stay open to all the dapples surrounding me every day.
